A big part of my Childhood was Cheggers a bubbly character that kids thought was a big adult kid.
He definitely did his bit for Children's TV, I was only watching him the other day on Extra's where he was very funny with gervais, so he was a decent actor too.
R.I.P Keith Chegwin 60 is far too young, a bubblier male presenter I think it will be impossible to find..

Not many of my childhood stars left now.
Hairy, in Extras, I can say he had one of the funniest lines I've ever heard in anything, especially as he was Keith Chegwin, smiley kids personality of my childhood. I gut laughed, and then gut laughed some more, and then had intermittent giggles for some time.
It was when he asked Gervais' charachter about the BBC, thesedays.
"Is it still full of queers and jews?"
bowled me over, that. Props to the BBC for allowing it.

Yea that very unPC line was from the crazy brain of Gervais, I agree you laugh just thinking about it even after simply because it is Keith Chegwin. I also found the part where he comes into the programme and is awful at acting very funny.
